Video game players will soon get to dive into the underwater world of Rapture from their iPhone or iPad.
Publisher 2K announced it will launch BioShock for Apple's iOS mobile operating system later this summer. The publisher did not unveil a price but noted BioShock would sell as a "premium priced mobile game."
The game will feature optimized touch controls, and work with standard video game controllers compatible with the iPhone or iPad.
BioShock stars Jack, whose plane crashes near a lighthouse leading toward the former underwater utopia called Rapture. The city features a variety of genetically-enhanced enemies from splicers to the massive Big Daddy. It was heralded as one of 2007's best video games when it launched for the Xbox 360.
This is not the first time 2K has experimented with moving some of its high-profile console games to mobile. Last year, 2K launched XCOM: Enemy Unknown for Apple's iPad. The game sold for $19.99.
