If you search around the Internet, it's not difficult to find covers of popular video game theme songs on piano, violin, guitar or nearly any other mainstream instrument.

But what about one performed on an instrument that's more than three thousand years old?

Listen in geeky amazement as the young Li-Jin Lee plays the Super Mario Bros theme song on a Chinese musical instrument known as a sheng. The sheng, by the way, dates back to roughly 1100BC (though we're pretty sure Li-Jin's is much newer).

Li-Jin played her rendition of the 1985 video game's theme during a lecture held earlier this month by the Taiwan Philharmonic.
