CHICAGO - Sacramento Kings forward Rudy returned to USA Basketball just days ago, joining the team during a mini-camp in Chicago.

Gay finished with five points off the U.S. bench, while his Kings teammate DeMarcus Cousins, who was sidelined with a bruised knee, watched from the bench as they defeated Brazil 95-78 in Saturday's exhibition game at the United Center.

According to a source, who spoke to News10 on the condition of anonymity since they were not allowed to speak publicly, Cousins is expecting to play on Wednesday in New York in a friendly against the Dominican Republic.

Cousins went down on Thursday when he suffered a knee-to-knee collision forcing him to leave practice. He later took a precautionary MRI which revealed no serious injury.

Team USA has listed Cousins as day-to-day but he would not play against Brazil.

Derrick Rose was cheered throughout the night as the Bulls star and native of Chicago's South Side showed moments of his MVP form. It was his first appearance since suffering another season-ending knee injury last season in front of his hometown fans. He finished the exhibition with seven points.

Fellow Chicago native Anthony Davis of the New Orleans Pelicans led the U.S. with 20 points and five blocks.
