LAS VEGAS - Sacramento carried an eight point lead into halftime, but a dreadful second half, where the Spurs outscored the Kings 50-26, capped a 85-69 victory for San Antonio in the first day of the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.

Ben McLemore, who was eager to have a much more consistent Summer League performance than last year's as a rookie, committed eight of the Kings' 19 turnovers, leading to 27 points for San Antonio.

"No, not very pleased," said head coach Michael Malone, who observed from the team's bench, while soon to be named lead assistant Tyrone Corbin took the coaching reins. "Just a very poor second half of basketball."

After stressing up-tempo play and ball movement in the team's mini-camp this week, and the coaching staff noting progress being make, the Kings took a big step backwards with the turnovers, and managed just eight assists.

Rookie Nik Stauskas and Quincy Acy were the lone bright spots for Sacramento. Stauskas hit the game's opening bucket, and dropped 14 points, on 4-of-9 shooting, adding three assists, two steals and two blocks in almost 33 minutes of play. Acy showed off his improved jumper, scoring 12 points in the first half on 4-of-5 from the floor. He finished with 14 points and seven rebounds.

All of the Kings' starters scored in double figures. Derrick Williams had 12, McLemore pitched in 11 and Ray McCallum chipped in with 10 points.
