SACRAMENTO - Former San Diego State star and NBA Draft prospect Xavier Thames will return to his hometown on Saturday to workout for the Sacramento Kings.
Thames, a 23-year-old point guard, was a star at Elk Grove's Pleasant Grove High School before playing four years at San Diego State.
According to two sources speaking to News10 on condition of anonymity, Thames will first workout for the Indiana Pacers on Friday before Saturday's session in Sacramento.
Since the Draft Combine, Thames has had workouts with Miami, Milwaukee, Chicago, Charlotte, New York, Orlando and Utah.
During his senior season at San Diego State, Thames was named the Mountain West Conference Player of the Year, averaging 17.6 points per game and leading the Aztecs into the NCAA Tournament. They were eliminated by Arizona in Anaheim during the fourth round of the tournament.
