ST. CHARLES, Mich. (WZZM) -- A man died after crashing his car into a bee infested abandoned home in Saginaw County.

The crash happened Wednesday afternoon as the driver was rounding a curve. When people tried to rescue him they were swarmed by bees and had to stay away, WJRT reported.

A local bee farm was able to eventually contain the bees with a spray so the car could be pulled from the home.

The victim is identified as Patrick Muirhead, 54, of St. Charles. Investigators say he likely died from a medical condition.
