HOUSTON — A plastic surgeon coming back from a business trip caught a group of burglars leaving his south Houston home. While some people may have simply called the police, he and his daughter took things a step further — they chased the suspects.
While his daughter drove, the doctor used his cell phone to record video as they tailed the three men in the truck.
The suspects then realized they were being followed and crashed into the victim's vehicle.
The accident sent the suspects flying into a ditch.
Officers were able to arrest two of the three alleged burglars. A third suspect got away.
Police don't recommend that victims take the law into their own hands, but this doctor said he would do it again.
"I'm tired of these people taking advantage of us," said the victim, who asked us not to use his name. "We're not going to tolerate it anymore in our neighborhood."
He said there have been several burglaries on his street.
His daughter suffered whiplash from the crash, but was released from the hospital.
They were able to recover several of their stolen belongings from the back of the truck.
