STOCKTON - Turner Construction, which is building Stockton's new courthouse, flies a camera-equipped drone over the worksite every several days. The idea is to document the work for marketing and historical purposes. The video is also used to help improve building techniques.
"We get better the next time, with lessons learned. We like to demonstrate we're a pretty good construction company," engineer Adam Della Monica said.
Turner has flown a plane over construction sites for these kinds of photos in the past. A drone and camera make it easier and less expensive.
"We're going with this for a fraction of the price. We have more control of what we're taking pictures of," said Della Monica.
When the courthouse is finished, it will have 13 floors, making it Stockton's tallest building. Two large cranes were recently constructed by Turner to assist with the project.
