CORRECTION February 18: Bethel Assembly of God is in Oakdale. An earlier version of this story incorrectly stating its location as Ceres has been corrected.

SACRAMENTO - An Oakdale youth pastor was arrested Monday for possession of child pornography, police said.

The arrest of Tyler Bliss, 27, came after Ceres police high tech crime investigators served search warrants at the suspect's home and Bethel Assembly of God in Oakdale where the suspect leads high school and college ministries. Officers collected computers and other electronic devices during the searches. Investigators said they found explicit pictures of children under the age of 13 but they didn't know if Bliss created the pictures or downloaded them.

"We are currently investigating to determine the source of the images," Ceres spokeswoman Carissa Higginbotham said.

Police said they had been investigating Bliss for some time following a tip.

Bliss was booked into Stanislaus County Jail on one count of possession of child pornography. He was released on $10,000 bond.
