Sacramento police arrested a man in the fatal stabbing of a woman in south Sacramento July 8.
Michael Lee Williams, 51, was taken into custody Tuesday morning in the area of Darla Way and Hemingway Drive, according to Sacramento police Officer Michele Gigante.
The victim, identified as Tanganyika Williams, 48, was found bleeding on 24th Street. She was transported to an area hospital but died from her stabbing injury, police said.
The victim was the aunt of NBA forward Matt Barnes who put out a plea on social media for help finding Williams.
Gigante said a tip from a citizen led law enforcement to the area where Williams was located.
