Sacramento police need the public's help finding a suspect vehicle in an injury hit-and-run case.

A bicyclist, a woman in her 40s, was going south on the 6800 block of 24th Street around 4 a.m. on Sunday, July 15 when she was hit by a SUV. Police said she suffered serious injuries.

Through the investigation, detectives believe the SUV to be a 1996-2001 Ford Explorer or a 1997 Mercury Mountaineer. Police said it is a dark colored SUV and would have damage to the right front headlight area, with possible damage to the right front hood area.

Tips can be texted to 274637 (CRIMES) and enter SACTIP followed by the tip information. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
