Mattress Firm announced Thursday that it will acquire Rocklin-based company Sleep Train Inc. for $425 million, according to a press release on the company's website.
Sleep Train operate 310 retail stores in California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Nevada and Hawaii and reportedly made $471 million in sales in 2013, Furniture Today reported.
Mattress Firm planned to continue to operate under both the Mattress Firm and Sleep Train's family of brands and will maintain a West Coast corporate headquarters near Sacramento.
"Acquiring Sleep Train will make Mattress Firm the first coast to coast mattress retailer in the U.S," said Steve Stanger, Mattress Firm's president in the press release.
