The Sacramento County Sheriff's Department has identified a suspect in the stabbing death of a man whose body was found Friday night on Florin Road.

Dinette Eugene Patterson, 38, is described as a black male who is about 5 feet 11 inches tall and who weighs about 195 pounds. The sheriff's department said in a press release that Patterson was a long-time associate of the victim.

The victim was in his early 40s. His name has not been released. The murder remains under investigation, and sheriff's homicide detectives have not identified a motive.

Sheriff's department spokesperson Sgt. Lisa Bowman said deputies received a call at about 8 p.m. that a stabbing had just occurred in the 5600 block of Florin Road. Medical personnel pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
