The man wanted for the murder of a midtown Sacramento woman found dead in her apartment on June 28 is in custody.
Sacramento police Officer Michele Gigante said Mohammad Joseph Khan, 34, is in the custody of the U.S. Border Patrol. She said it wasn't clear if Khan surrendered to authorities or was captured.
Detectives believe Khan killed Kelsey Joy Snyder in her 17th Street apartment. The manner of death has not been released but investigators said it was believed Khan had a gun.
The victim and suspect were believed to have been romantically involved, according to detectives.
Gigante said the police department is coordinating with the FBI to take custody of Khan.
