A Rocklin High School student was arrested after school Wednesday for having a gun on campus.
The 14-year-old boy is accused of brandishing a handgun about 15 minutes after school ended for the day, Rocklin High School Principal David Bills said in a news release.
The incident was reported to administrators within an hour. Bills said the Rocklin Police Department was notified and investigated the incident, leading them to the suspect.
"We applaud students and parents coming forward with information regarding any safety issues on campus as well as the swift action by the Rocklin Police to identify and apprehend the offending student," Bills said.
No other information about the incident was released.
The classes usually end at 2:40 p.m. The school campus is located at 5301 Victory Lane.
