ROSEVILLE- A rash of burglaries caughtthe attention of police in Roseville. There have been seven businesses burglarized in seven days, since August 3.
Nearly all of the businesses have been along the Sierra College Boulevard and Douglas Boulevard corridor.
The seven businesses burglarized included hair salons, chiropractor offices, and restaurants.
The latest burglary happened around 1 a.m. Saturday. Burglars hit the Western Feed and Pet Supply on Sierra College Boulevard. Employees said nothing was taken though.
On August 6th, thieves hit a hair salon and clothing boutique on the same road and then a taproom two doors down.Police believe all the burglaries could be connected.
"I think they were targeted mostly because they are cash only businesses, but also, we've discovered that the majority of them do not have alarms," said Aaron Splawn of Roseville Police Department.
"They just broke their way through the window using a rock. You see the guy on camera walk right over the cash register. He looks at the cash register, sees that it's open with nothing in it, and walks straight out," said store employee Keylah Morris of Nevaeh Boutique, Spa and Salon.
The hair salon and clothing boutique didn't didn't lose anything. But, two doors down, at Final Gravity Taproom, thieves stole the entire cash register.
Police said the thieves looked for fast cash and used a rock to smash open front windows or doors.
In several cases, the thieves made off with a few hundred dollars, lap top computers and desktop computers.
Police remind business owners to not leave any cash on scene after hours. The Roseville Police Department has very little information about the suspects.
