SACRAMENTO - A judge sentenced Jake Clark to three years plus 25 years to life in prison for the 2011 murder of Ghulam Ayobi Friday, district attorney Jan Scully announced.

In June, a jury convicted Clark of first-degree murder.

The sentence comes two years after Sacramento police officers responded to a call of a male shot on Interstate 80. Upon arrival, officers found Ghulam Ayobi shot in the upper body.

Ayobi was later declared dead after he was transported to the hospital.

Ayobi's wife, Sajia, was also convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to 26 years to life in prison in June 2013.
