Rescue crews continue to looking for four people after a speed boat capsized in Folsom Lake.

California State Parks Sgt. Ryan Steele said it was unclear if the men in the boat were wearing life jackets at the time of the accident.

The accident happened in the middle of the lake, near Brown's Ravine, around 1:45 p.m. Saturday. Steele said it was a remote area of the lake in front of Folsom Dam and near the peninsula.

The speed boat, which is 35 to 40 feet long, was recovered by crews.

Searchers on jet skis and a California Highway Patrol helicopter searched the water but no one was found. Dive teams from California State Parks and Sacramento County were at the scene to help in the search, Folsom Lake State Park spokesperson Vicky Waters said.

The names of the missing men were released Sunday. Folsom Lake State Park spokesperson Vicky Waters said they are Toby Strauch, 54; James Strauch, 47; Jake Jacobs, 53; and Jon Smith, 47, all of the Sacramento area.

Dive teams were back in the water around 8:30 Sunday morning, Waters said.

The park is restricting access to the area where the boat capsized.

According to Waters, the search is now a recovery effort.

California State Parks, the lead agency in the search effort, was working with the Placer County Sheriff's Office, the South Placer Fire District and the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office to recover the missing people.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
