A small plane crash near Swansboro Airport Saturday night left one man dead, another man injured, according to El Dorado County Sheriff's Office.
At 7 p.m. Deputies were called regarding a plane crash at the airport. When they arrived to the crash, they found two men.
One man was transported by plane to a hospital for treatment, the other man was pronounced dead at the scene according to the sheriff's website.
Early information indicated the plane, a Starduster 11, had intended on landing at Swansboro Airport but after circling the airport once, the plane disappeared.
The airport was closed for a short time, then reopened.
The NTSB and FAA are investigating the cause of the accident according to FAA spokesman Allen Kenitzer.
