SACRAMENTO - A Capitol Corridor train was brought to a halt in Davis after a person was struck and killed Tuesday morning, Amtrak said.

Former News10 political editor John Myers, who was riding on the train at the time, said the incident happened shortly after 8:30 a.m. Amtrak later confirmed that a person had been killed west of the Davis station.

Pictures tweeted by passengers aboard the train showed train conductors and emergency responders on the tracks investigating the incident.
