A wildfire burned 9.5 acres of brush near Pioneer in Amador County.

The Gold Fire started around 3:10 p.m. Thursday on Gold Circle Drive, near Highway 88. About 10 minutes later, the fire jumped to Shaeffer Ranch Road. The fire then spread to Carson and Meadow Crest drives.

Cal Fire said two tankers and two helicopters were assigned to battle the flames.

Two hours after the fire started, firefighters were able to stop the spread of the fire.

The fire was fully contained around 8 p.m.
