Placer County sheriff's detectives are looking for a man who attacked a woman at her north Auburn home early Tuesday morning.
According to detectives, at 1:18 a.m., the woman was smoking outside her home in the 11000 block of Quartz Drive when she was approached by man in his late 20s or early 30s. The man threatened her with a weapon and then forced the woman into her apartment, where he threw her around her.
"He forced her back into her apartment threw her down a couple of times, once in the house and once on the bed," Placer County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Dena Erwin said.
The man then went through her home and took some items before running away from the area.
Investigators said solving this case will be tough because of a vague suspect description and lack of witnesses.
"He was unusual looking had a scared face, he smelled awful and maybe a homeless guy in the area," Erwin said.
Investigators said they hope to release a sketch of the suspect within the next couple of days.
