Four people were killed when a Lexus was driven off the road and totaled in Patterson Monday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The solo-vehicle crash was on W. Marshall Road just east of Ward Avenue near a canal, CHP Officer Chad Hertzel said. The incident was first reported at 7:30 p.m. as a car being driven a high speed lost control.
Hertzel did not know if the Lexus hit anything.
The cause of the crash is under investigation. It was not known if alcohol or drugs played a part.
