Hi, there!

As some of you may already know, I am getting married to my best friend of four years, Robbie, this September in Lake Tahoe.

Like many engaged couples out there, we are looking for ways to save money (and time) wherever we can. So, I've channeled my inner crafty side to help reduce costs without compromising style. From invitations to decorations, I'll be posting a series of articles designed to provide brides-to-be with creative, cost-effective ways to plan a wedding. I hope you enjoy the tips, as well as the candid confessions I make along the way!

Please join in the discussion by leaving me a comment or suggestion within the posts, and feel free to ask away if you have any questions! Thanks for reading!

First, here is a little back story on our journey toward our big day!

The Proposal

After three years of dating, Robbie decided to pop the question August 30, 2013 on top of Half Dome in Yosemite National Park.

I was completely surprised, and it was certainly a moment I will never forget! Robbie's brother (a photographer) was there to capture the entire proposal in a series of photos. The Rim Fire had just sparked a few days prior, so the haze you see in the background is the smoke starting to creep into the valley. It made for a smokey hike down, but I had a big reason to smile :)

The Wedding

We will be getting married on the top of a small ski resort on Lake Tahoe's west shore this September.

We are both avid skiers, so we will be taking a ski lift up the mountain for the I Do's! The beautiful Lake Tahoe will serve as the backdrop during the ceremony, then our guests will take the lift back down the mountain for the reception which will be held outside of the lodge at the base. We are really hoping it is a memorable and fun experience for our family and friends!
