SACRAMENTO - Three suspects believed responsible for a home invasion robbery in Loomis Thursday were captured, according to the Placer County Sheriff's Department.
Sheriff's spokesperson Dena Erwin said a man and a woman who live on Creekside Lane were tied up to chairs and held at gunpoint for several hours while three people robbed them, took weapons and their cars.
The victims said an AK-47 was pointed at their heads. They were not hurt.
When the captors left and the victims freed themselves, they called 911 at 12:18 p.m., Erwin said.
Sheriff's deputies and California Highway Patrol officers fanned out, searching the Interstate 80 corridor for the victims' cars. Erwin said the cars were spotted on westbound Interstate 80, just east of Douglas Boulevard. Officers halted traffic while they took a man and woman in the cars into custody.
A third suspect was located car a carwash near Riverside Boulevard and Cirby way minutes later, Erwin said.
