SACRAMENTO - Sacramento County sheriff's detectives believe a simmering dispute erupted in the fatal shooting of a Citrus Heights man at a Carmichael apartment complex Jan. 18.

Sheriff's Sgt. Lisa Bowman said investigators arrested Christopher Bernal, 33, and Jacob Reed Fisher, 20, on Monday on suspicion of murdering David Justin Gonzales, 34. Gonzales was shot and pronounced dead by medical responders at an Arden-Arcade apartment complex on the 4700 block of Marconi Avenue that Saturday night.

Detectives did no elaborate on what the dispute concerned.

Bowman said Bernal and Fisher were booked into Sacramento County Jail on no bail holds.
