Chris Nguyen is excited to be a part of the News10 family. He currently serves as an anchor/reporter for News10 Good Morning and files breaking news, enterprise and traffic reports throughout the week.

Prior to joining our news team in the summer of 2012, Chris was the weekend evening anchor at KREM-TV (Spokane), the Inland Northwest's CBS affiliate. He also previously held the role of weekday morning anchor at WAND-TV (Decatur), the NBC affiliate in Central Illinois. These roles have given him the opportunity to interview people from all walks of life, including presidential candidates and Super Bowl MVPs, as well as community members who are committed to making a difference in the lives of others.

Chris began his broadcasting career at any early age as a "kid disc jockey" for KKDZ-AM (Seattle). He first entered the world of television news as a morning traffic producer at KOMO-TV (Seattle), the ABC affiliate in Western Washington. Chris then moved over to the FOX affiliate, KCPQ-TV (Seattle), where he supported the station's news and sports departments as a field producer. He also has experience writing and reporting for a number of community newspapers.

Outside of the newsroom, Chris enjoys mentoring youth, hitting the gym and spending time with friends and family. He was previously recognized by the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association as a "Coach of the Year" for his work as a varsity-level high school tennis coach. An avid runner, Chris has completed multiple half marathons, and has his sights set on completing a full course in the near future. He lives in East Sacramento and can often be found running laps on the track at McKinley Park!

Chris is a proud graduate of the University of Washington, where he studied communication and political science. He is a member of the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity and has held various alumni leadership roles such as chapter and leadership adviser. Chris is also involved with the Asian American Journalists Association and serves on the board of directors for the Sacramento chapter.
