SACRAMENTO - A high-end road bicycle stolen from a Reno bike shop was recovered in a sting set up by Truckee police officers.

A release from the Truckee Police Dept. detailed the shop owner contacted the police on Jan. 21, informing them he had located one of his stolen bicycles for sale on Craigslist in the Truckee area. The owner informed police the bike retailed for $9,000 and was listed at a considerably lower price on the website.

The Truckee Police Dept. then set up an operation to buy the stolen bike and arranged a meeting in Truckee. An officer posed as the buyer and when the seller, along with two other individuals, arrived with the bicycle, they were arrested, according to the release.

Darius McGillivray, 29, Tyden Balais, 23, and Darlene Balmer, 24 were arrested for possession of stolen property. Additionally, Truckee police developed information that was relayed to the Reno Police Dept. concerning the burglary of the bike shop and possible suspect information.
