SACRAMENTO, CA - The second annual Sacramento Sports Hall of Fame welcomed six more local athletes, which included Olympic, Super Bowl and World Series champions.
Three-time Super Bowl Champion Tedy Bruchi was the head of the 2014 class, which also included two-time World Series champion and five-time All-Star Steve Sax, Olympic gold medalists in swimming Jeff Float and Debbie Meyer, baseball star LeRon Lee, and Special Olympics champion Donald Schendel.
All but Bruschi were in attendance for their induction ceremony at Thunder Valley Casino. They were joined by five-time NBA champion Bill Cartwright, and baseball star Dusty Baker - both part of the inaugural class in 2013.
Brushchi was unable to attend due to Super Bowl duties as an analyst with ESPN. He recorded a video acceptance speech and was represented at the event by his best friend, Josh Tindall, a former high school football teammate with the Roseville Tigers.
Baker inducted his longtime friend Lee, whoplayed against each other in high school. Lee played for Grant high school, while Baker was a star at Del Campo.
