A teacher landed in jail after serving pot-laced food at a potluck dinner, according to police in Benicia, Calif.
Teresa Gilmete Badger, 47, was arrested Friday on poisoning charges, according to Lt. Frank Hartig of the Benicia Police Department.
Badger's arrest came after authorities investigated for more than a month after a tip from the school superintendent.
According to Hartig, several people who attended the Nov. 21 dinner complained of feeling sick or getting high. Two people sought treatment at a hospital and bloodwork on one of the patients tested positive for THC, an active ingredient in marijuana.
A child also ate some of the pot-infused food that was brought home from the dinner, authorities say.
Badger, who teaches first grade at Matthew Turner Elementary School, faces three counts of poisoning, police told NBC.
