SACRAMENTO - One of two people in a car that struck a pole Tuesday was pronounced dead Wednesday.

The Sacramento County Coroner's Office released a statement confirming David Corona, 18, of Sonoma, had died as a result of injuries he suffered in the crash.

According toSacramento police, the driver of a 1997 Acura Integra was traveling on Duckhorn Drive near Far Niente Wayat approximately 6:12 a.m.when helost control of the car and broadsided the pole.

Corona, the passenger, was taken to UC Davis Medical Centerwhen he later passed away.

The driver, described as in his 20s,was also taken to the hospital withserious injuries.

Wednesday, Sacramento police Officer Michele Gigante said investigators were looking for a possible witness to the crash. Detectives learned a white Toyota Corolla may have been traveling behind the Integra and the person or persons inside may haveseen what happened.

It was not believed the Toyota was involved in the collision, Gigante said.

Police say speed was being considered as a factor in the crash.
