SACRAMENTO - A search for a 19-year-old man missing since Saturday night ended positively Monday morning.

Sheriff's Lt. Tim Becker saida woman called the El Dorado County Sheriff'sOffice Sunday, informing dispatchers of a search for the missing man she had read about on a Facebook page. The woman told the sheriff's office the man had been at a friend's home in the gated community of Auburn Lake Trails in Coolwhen he and a group of friends decided to go for a walk late Saturday night. The 19 year old did not return with his friends.

Deputies assigned to the matter contacted the man's mother who informed them she had not heard from her son since Sunday. She also told deputies she feared forher son's safety although he hadhad been staying with friends for the past couple of weeks.

Involved individuals were questioned to determine the circumstances surrounding the man's disappearance, Becker said.

The man's mother organized a search of the community which continued into Sunday night with the assistance of deputies and a California Highway Patrol aircraft. The search resumed Monday morning when the young man waslocated in a rock quarry on the outskirts of the community around 10:15 a.m.

The man was awake and alert, Becker said.

No further details on his condition were known.
