A California man was arrested Monday at the In-N-Out Burger drive-through in Sparks after he allegedly kidnapped and beat his former girlfriend, police say.
Sparks police say Adam Felty, 31, abducted his former girlfriend from her home in the Sacramento area and began driving on Interstate 80 eastbound until arriving in Sparks. The victim tried several times to exit the vehicle on I-80, witnesses told police. California Highway Patrol received phone calls saying Felty was beating her during the drive, Sparks police say. Peace officers in Nevada were notified, police say.
Felty allegedly struck her in the face several times while in the drive-through of the Sparks burger shop. She escaped and fled inside the restaurant.
Police apprehended Felty while still in the drive-through. He was transported to Washoe County Jail with domestic battery and second-degree kidnapping charges. His bail was set at $23,000.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Sparks Police Department detectives at 775-353-2225 or Secret Witness at 775-322-4900.
