SACRAMENTO - A Sacramento woman confined to a wheelchair was sexually assaulted by a man who broke into her apartment very early Saturday morning, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department.

The assault took place on the 7400 block of Power Inn Road at approximately 1 a.m. Saturday. The attacker smashed a window to get into the victim's home and then took her cellphone from her before raping her, investigators say.

There were visible injuries on the woman who was transported to an area hospital by firefighter/paramedics, responding deputies reported.

The assailant had fled before deputies got to the apartment.

UPDATE: Tuesday, sheriff's Sgt. Lisa Bowman said a suspect has been arrested. He is 21-year-old Abraham Arroyo. He was booked into custody with bail set at $1 million. He is due to be arraigned Thursday afternoon.
