SACRAMENTO - An 11-year-old boy was taken to the hospital with critical injuries Monday after being hit by two vehicles.
Sacramento police Lt. Don Rehm said the boy was with a friend crossing the intersection of Bruceville Road and Cosumnes River Boulevard at a crosswalk against a red light around 5:30 p.m.
The boy was hit by a silver Honda first, and that driver pulled over. A second vehicle hit the boy and he went under the vehicle which proceeded east on Cosumnes River Boulevard and did not stop.
The victim's friend was not hit or injured.
Tuesday, Officer Michele Gigante said the hit and run vehicle was described as a light-colored, late 1970s to early 1980s Ford or Chevy-type full-size van with a raised roof cap, high enough for a person to stand up in.
Police were asking for the public's help in locating the second driver. Anyone with information was asked to call (916) 443-HELP or visit www.sacpd.org/contact/crimetips.
