SACRAMENTO - A fatal crash involving a motorcyclist forced the closure of all but one lane and caused an extensive delay on Interstate 80 Monday morning.

Officer Rich Wetzel of the California Highway Patrol said the collision happened on the westbound side of the interstate in the area of W. El Camino Ave. around 6:24 a.m.

The motorcyclist involved in the wreck was killed. No information was provided on the cause of the wreck.

A second crash on I-80 near Reed Ave. created additional delays.

UPDATE: All lanes were reopened as of 9 a.m.
