SACRAMENTO - A woman was pulled off the street andsexually assaulted Tuesday night while walking from a bus stop on Madison Avenue near Interstate 80, say sheriff's deputies.

Sgt. Lisa Bowman of the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department said the woman was grabbed near the Madison Ave. off ramp off I-80 and dragged down an embankment to a densely wooded area where the assault took place.

"She was blitz-attacked from behind," said Bowman.

The assailant was described as a black man in his 20s, 5'10" to 6'0" tall, weighing 200 to 210 pounds. He has short black hair, brown eyes and was wearing glasses, a gray t-shirt and blue jeans.

Detectives believe the attack may be linked to another assault from September 2013 nearby on Watt Avenue at Interstate 80.

Anyone recognizing the man or who may have information on the assault was asked to call the Sacramento Sheriff's Sexual Assault Bureau at (916) 874-5070.
