SACRAMENTO -Residents at the Emerald Gardens care facility woke to wet surroundings early Friday morning when a water main burst beneath the property.

Firefighters were called to the facility at 6829 24th Street around 5:45 a.m. and requested assistance to help move the residents from the location. The county health department was also requested at the scene.

The City water department was called to the sceneto shut down and repair the broken main.

No information was provided on how many people were displaced due to the incident.

Police were requested at the scene for traffic control in the area due to the break.
