STOCKTON - A standoff outside of an east Stockton home ended after police used a Taser on the suspect and took him into custody.

The incident began around 2 p.m., police said, when the man,broke windows out of houses in the area of North Funston Avenue and Bradford Street and caused other property damage. He then barricaded himself inside of a home on Walnut Street.

Police created a perimeter around the home and tried to get the man to come out.

According to preliminary information, officers discharged a non-lethal bean bag weapon at the man when he threw items at them. The man then went back inside.

The standoff ended around 3:30 p.m. when the man was taken into custody.

Nearby Grunsky Elementary School was placed on lockdown.
