That's what Citrus Hieghts police hope to find out Wednesday night as they and police volunteers hand out flyers and talk to pedestrians and potential witnesses in the area where Christopher Sorgani was assaulted.

Sorgani died four days after the beating in front of the Spring Creek Apartments, 7761 Greenback Lane, on Oct. 23. The attack was reported just after 6:30 that evening.

Police said the victim wascritically injured with head trauma. He was found lying on the sidewalk. Why Sorgani was beaten was unknown. Det. Chris Morris said it appeared to be a stranger attack.

A witness described the attacker as a white man, about 5 feet 9-10 inches tall with a thin build. He was in his mid 20s and wore dark clothing. It was unclear if he ran from the scene or got into a vehicle.

The police canvas for witnesses will take place from 4p.m. until about 8 p.m. Wednesday.
