CARMICHAEL, Calif. - A popular Carmichael pizza parlour was damaged bytwo-alarm fire earlyMonday morning.

Sacramento Metropolitan firefighters received a call of a fire atMark and Monica's pizzeria on Manzanita Avenue at approximately 12:10 a.m., saidFire Captain Bryan Thomson.

Arriving crews found a fire burning in the brush at the front of the restaurant that had spread to the building, said Thomson.

According to Thomson, firefighters dowsed the flames in time to save a large portion of the structure.

Damage to the pizza parlor was estimated atapproximately $50,000.

Nobody was injured in the fire, said Thomson.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
