OAKDALE, Calif. - Bonnye Spray is a tireless advocate for driver safety after losing her daughter Amanda in a texting crash several years ago.
Amanda was texting and driving when she crashed her car and was killed, said Spray .
And only last week, Spray and her husband wereontheir way to deliver a talkon distracted drivingwhen they were hit by a suspecteddistracted driver in the Escalon area.
Spray saidthe tow truck driver who arrived to remove their totalled car from the scene was the same person whotowed Amanda's car from the scene of her crash.
Spray says the problem of distracted driving is near epidemic and perhaps car keys should be taken away in some cases.
