The First Lady of Song turned 96 years old Thursday and was honored in a Google Doodle.

Ella Fitzgerald was born in 1917 and died on June 15, 1996. During her life, the Queen of Jazz won over a dozen awards, including Grammys, the NAACP Image Lifetime Achievement Award and her song "A-Tisket, A-Tasket" was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.

Fitzgerald sold more than 40 million albums and collaborated with jazz greats like Duke Ellington and Louis Armstrong.
