STORY: Divers find car, driver in Sacramento River

Mussarat Chaudhary was driving along Old River Road in West Sacramento when her black Toyota Camry went into the water a little after 8 that Wednesday morning. She used her cellphone to first contact a relative and then 911 to get help. She reportedly told her daughter she couldn't stop the car and it was in the water.

Emergency responders arrived and eventually located the car. Chaudhary was inside when the Camry was towed out of the river.

According to a news release from the law firm Dreyer Babich Buccola Wood Campora, the family of Chaudhary has retained legal council to determine if a mechanical defect with the car caused it to go off the roadway and into the river.
