INDIO, Calif. - The lineup for the annual Coachella Music and Arts festival was released on Friday and this year's show is receiving mixed reviews.
Headliners at the three-day festival for 2013 include a mix of performers spanning 4 decades, with a heavy taste of the 80's permeating the menu.
The Stone Roses, New Order, Lou Reed, Violent Femmes, Social Distortion, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nick Cave, Dead Can Dance and OMD are scattered across the lineup, with the Stone Roses and Chili Peppers listed as headliners for the first and last days of the concert respectively.
Advancing a few decades, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Modest Mouse, Tegan and Sarah, Phoenix, Hot Chip and Vampire Weekend are a few of the more notable names featuring on the Coachella stages this year.
On the electronic front, Paul Oakenfold, Infected Mushroom, and Bassnectar, comprise a less dedicated listing of electronic performers for 2013.
Overall, the lineup seems to have reverted backto the style that made the concert seriessuch a success, with the main focus shifting back to a heavy rock and electronic presence, and away frombig pop names as in recent years.
