MODESTO, CA - Police investigate the suspicious disappearance of a Modesto woman who has been missing for nearly three weeks.

Eldoris Christine Graham, 28, was reported missing by her mother on Dec. 15 after not hearing from Graham for two days, Modesto police Lt. Rick Armendariz said.

Graham's mother told police that she last talked to her daughter on Dec. 13 when her daughter said she was going to the Bay Area with her live-in boyfriend, 39-year-old Anthony Coxum.

Armendariz said when Graham didn't show up for work, Graham's mother reported her missing to police.

Graham had been working at a fast food restaurant in Modesto for several months. When she didn't show up to work, her boss became worried and also called police.

"I'm very concerned about Eldoris. It's not like her to not come back into work," manager Julia Denslow said. "She's very reliable and now she's just gone."

She went on to say, "No one has heard from her- not her mother. Her paycheck is still here."

During the investigation, police talked to Coxum, who said he dropped Graham off in the Bay Area. In a follow-up interview with Coxum, police found his statements to be inconsistent and not forthcoming, Armendariz said.

Two weeks later, Coxum was arrested in Fayetteville, North Carolina, for violating parole. He was found driving Graham's car when he was arrested.

Armendariz said Coxumwas no longer being cooperative in Graham's disappearance.

Graham's friends and family said they were concerned that her allegedly abusive boyfriend may have been connected to her disappearance. They said he has a rap sheet that'ssix pages long.

"She admitted to me on numerous occasions he was abusive. I told her to leave," Denslow said.

Denslow told Graham to file a restraining order but Graham never did, saying that she was afraid of Coxum.

Thursday, poloice released photos of Coxum and Graham's car.
