FAIR OAKS, CA - Three businesses were vandalized and burglarized in a Carmichael stripmallWednesday morning.

According to Citrus Heights police officers at the scene, a firefighter in the areaheard a loud bang in the vicinity of the stripmall on Winding Way and Dewey Avenue around2:30 a.m.and went to investigate. When he got to the scene, the fireman saw a man running from the area.

Citrus Heights police officers, K9 units and a helicopter were all dispatched to the scene and set up a large perimeter to look for the man seen running from the area and another individual, but nobody was found. The perimeter was broken down and the scene cleared around 4:30 a.m.

Officers did not detail the extent of the damage to the properties or what was stolen.

The man seen running from the area by the firefighter was described asa large black man with short hair wearing a coat.
