SACRAMENTO, CA - A woman was arrested after leading police on a chase with her children in the back seat of the car Thursday night, Sacramento police said.

Police spotted a suspicious vehicle, a GMC, at a gas station on Florin Road around 10:52 p.m. and approached the occupants, Officer Michele Gigante said.

Officers found that the passenger was on probation and asked him to get out of the truck. While he complied, the driver Brandi Allen, 33, refused to get out, locked the doors then drove off, Gigante said.

Allen allegedly led police on a slow speed chase for one to two miles. Gigante said when she pulled over, three children, ages 9, 11 and 12, got out of the backseat of the truck.

Gigante said Allen was arrested for DUI, evading police and child endangerment.

The children were not injured.
