SACRAMENTO, CA - Two people were arrested in connection to the shooting death of a Sacramento man after a nearly three-week investigation.

Officers arrested Albert Padilla, 23, in Stockton on Aug. 23; four days later, they arrested his girlfriend Selina Torres, 21, in Sacramento, Sacramento police Officer Michele Gigante said.

The suspects are accused shooting and killing Luis Alfredo Vasquez, 26, on Aug. 11. Gigante said a fight broke out at a home on the 2500 block of Traction Avenue around 3:15 a.m. Padilla allegedly fired shots into a group of people and hit Vasquez; Torres was arrested as an accessory to the murder, Gigante said.
