SACRAMENTO, CA - Help promote literacy in our community at the 2nd annual Sacramento READS! Celebration of Literacy Fair!

The Celebration of Literacy Fair will provide resources for parents and students as they prepare for the new school year. Centered on early childhood literacy, the event will include reading-relevant activities and training for parents. Plus free educational prizes will be raffled such as a Kindle Fire and children's books!

Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson will also be present to give some inspirational words on the importance of reading and the Sacramento READS! Campaign.

In addition, the Fair will also be an opportunity for volunteers to make a difference. Sacramento Reads! will be recruiting new volunteers for 14 Sacramento READS! tutoring sites within the city.

The event takes place on Thursday August 23rd from 5:30-7:30pm at Fairytale Town in Sacramento.

Admission into the park is absolutely free and includes catered BBQ!
